AI Helped Me Solve One of the Biggest Platform Headaches.

One of the most frustrating challenges in platform/marketplace building?
Users who sign up but then go silent.
They browse once or twice, maybe post something — and vanish.
I used to look at dashboards and see hundreds of these half-active users. I didn’t want to spam them. I didn’t want to ignore them. I wanted to understand them.
So I asked my AI teammate to help.
Here’s what we did:
Segmented the “silent” users. AI helped cluster them based on behaviour — not just time since last login, but what they did (or didn’t do) before disappearing.
Generated 3–5 possible reasons they might have dropped off — based on the data and what’s commonly seen in marketplaces.
Drafted message variations tailored to each cluster. (Not just emails — also WhatsApps, in-app nudges, and even better onboarding steps for new users.)
Ran mini-tests. Within days, we saw a double-digit uptick in responses and reactivations — and more importantly, better conversations with real users.
No fancy dashboards. No external consultants.
Just me, AI, and a clear challenge.
It worked. And the process is now part of my platform playbook.
→ While this example comes from a platform/marketplace, the same thinking applies to almost any business — especially if you’ve got inactive customers, cold leads, or an audience that’s gone quiet.
→ Struggling with drop-offs, churn, or ghost users?
Send me a mail — I’ll send you the exact AI prompt I used to solve it.
