AI as a Teammate → Why Specs & Context Matter

AI is changing how we build, code, and design. But here’s the catch: it’s not just about speed or automation.
From my own journey — starting in software engineering and now designing solutions with a UX and Service Design lens — I’ve learnt that context and specs are becoming more valuable than ever.
When I built a Tetris-like game in a day with AI, the real challenge wasn’t the code. It was the missing detail in my inputs. I didn’t define the mobile version well enough, and fixing it became the most time-consuming part.
The lesson? NEVER assume.AI is a teammate. And like any teammate, it can only work with the instructions and clarity you provide.
The same applies to the AI agents I write for the hospitality industry. Success doesn’t come from one perfect prompt — it comes from an ongoing conversation with AI, where you shape the context, refine the specs, and steer the outcome.
That’s the future of working with AI: not replacement, but collaboration.
