Before…

Networking is how you get ahead. “It’s not what you know; it’s who you know.” Brush up on your conversational skills or attend a seminar or exhibition to learn the tricks to successful networking.

After…

It matters not how many people you know but how many people you helped, because those are the people who will be there for you when you need help.

A new way…

We believe the way people network is wrong. The standard approach is transactional and self-interested with the guiding principle being “What can this person do for me?”. There is no sincerity, no authenticity, just a desire to grab as many business cards as possible, in the hope that one day one of them would produce a return.

Rather lead with generosity, show how what you bring to the table can benefit others.  Creating a network means reaching out and being generous. By taking care of people within your sphere of influence, they, in return, will take care of you. Reach out to others and say: “We can help you get there.”
